I’m Jess, a freelance copywriter with over a decade of experience. I specialise in creative copywriting across all channels, tone of voice, brand messaging and editorial/SEO content. I work with a wide variety of brands and businesses, from startups to household names.
My skills include word-perfect copy for any topic in any tone, strategic thinking and digital best practice (including UX and accessibility principles). As a former journalist, I can research, interview and write editorial features. And with years of agency experience, I work well alongside designers, devs and UX specialists.

What’s it like to work with me?
Every project is different, but I aim to be super-responsive, easy to work with and always cheerful (even if it's a soggy November afternoon and I've run out of matcha). I like to start by learning as much as I can about your business or project, so I've got all the context I need. I'll ask lots of questions, even ones that might sound a bit silly. Then I'll jump in and get writing. I like to check in early, with a little sample copy to show you how things are going. If you've got a designer on the project, I'll keep in touch with them so we can make sure that copy and imagery work well together. And when I've finished, I'll talk you through all of the work, answer your questions and make sure you're happy with everything.
